About

Black Flower Mosaic is inspired by the Communing of Flowers and the living legacy of Black cultural freedom. We honor both the softness and the struggle, knowing that freedom—like flowers—roots deep, reaches wide, and always returns in bloom. Therefore, we follow the flower’s language—seed, bud, bloom, pollination, and senescence—not only as a metaphor for individual and communal growth, but as a rhythm of expression, resistance, and return. Each story we hold is a petal in a larger mosaic—diverse, interwoven, and radiant with wisdom. Together, we cultivate a way of existing: grounded in the Earth, shaped by community, and blossoming collective liberation and connected self.

Storytender

Yo y’all, i’m Christian “Smoke” Lee. My desire to unearth, preserve, and activate stories of Black existence—in both culture and history—stems from my upbringing in Jacksonville, Florida. i draw my inquisitive energy from the stories i encountered through my visits to other lands and spaces that have remixed, supported, or constrained Black growth. Now that the meadow exists, i look forward to the beautifully amalgamated bloom that will rise—because of our storyseed.
